Pilates

Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace, and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, in the way you play, and in the way you work – Joseph Pilates.

Developed by Joseph Pilates when he was a Prisoner of War in WWI, Pilates was designed to be a system to develop strength, coordination and balance within a limiting environment. Though initially he had little more than his own body to work with, after the war Joseph expanded his techniques to include specific equipment used at studios like blue cow today.

The six core principles have remained the same however: concentration, control, centring, flow, precision and breathing. These help make this holistic approach to exercise one of the safest and most successful available today.
